This is one my favourite Christian songs at the moment and I wanted to share it with you because it speaks to us about God’s love and how we often see ourselves differently to how God sees us especially as LGBTQ Christians (or evn non-Christians!). Growing up gay in a Christian family I allowed myself to become convinced that God couldn’t love me. That pushed me away from church and away from faith. In fact, all of us have fallen short of God’s perfect standards but none of us need to feel ashamed. He sent his son, Jesus, to die on a cross to take the blame for everything that we do wrong. As a result, God sees us as being perfect. Romans 8:1 says ‘There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus’. That means God no longer condemns us. If that is the case then we should no longer condemn ourselves either.
